Hawkgirl says…

…you will finish the edits on Seven Wonders tonight, or you’ll get this Nth metal mace somewhere unpleasant.

Couple of neat things today:

  • Over at Starbust magazine, Chris Miller took a trip into the future to attend the 2017 Iron Man Film Festival, where the black and white, 3D cinematic adaptation of Empire State was something of a hit. It’s also good to see that the book’s success will inspire a resurgence in interest in noir fiction, leading a 3D remastering of the 1946 film noir classic, The Big Sleep. Now we just need to wait six years to see if Chris’s prediction comes true!
  • I’m not sure I mentioned this at the time, but Literary Musings took a look at the cover for Empire State and gave it a thumbs-up. Thanks!

Finally, another blurb for Empire State has come in, this time from Cory Doctorow, who says:

“Adam Christopher’s debut novel is a noir, Philip K Dick-ish science fiction superhero story… a novel of surreal resonances, things that are like other things, plot turns that hearken to other plot turns. It’s often fascinating, as captivating as a kaleidoscope… just feel it in all its weird glory.”

I’ve added this to the main Empire State page – don’t forget, the book is now available for pre-order, and you can read an extract at Tor.com. All the info you need is right here.

Now, I have just 70 pages on Seven Wonders to go. Time for pizza and tea and away I go…
